Bing had a cat named Minxie, but what he longed for was a pet dog. Mom nixed that idea, and he accepted her decision. One day he glanced at a shiny robot poster on his wall; Bingo receives a flash of inspiration. He will create a robot to be his friend. Bingo uses his ingenuity while rummaging through boxes in the basement. Using household tools, he spends hours using trial and error until he comes up with a working robot. He names his robot Nero and they become fast friends. They dance, play video games and even fly across the backyard. Nero proves to be a better friend than a pet dog.I love books that portray a child using his imagination to come up with creative solutions in problem solving. This book has large bold illustrations that make it an appealing read aloud for younger children. Early readers will find the text just challenging enough for an early reader. Highly recommended for parents and classroom teachers of children aged four through eight.

Bing Nero Boy + Robot = Fun! The Adventures of Bing Nero Volume 1 I L Williams Inci Alper Books Reviews
Great book to share and read to your little ones. The artist's pictures are awesome. Cute story, who wouldn't have great dreams after this story! Bought to read to 3 year old grandson. Highly recommend!!!
Great book - very engaging story about a boy who takes matters into his own hands when he was bored. This book was an instant hit with the kids. Will be liked especially by those who enjoy the Oliver Jeffers books.
Bing & Nero is a very cute book with lots of colorful illustrations. My 4 year old son really enjoyed the story and loved how Bing built the robot all by himself. I can see this book turning into a series!
The print version is probably the better format for reading this though as the layout on the ebook has the page with the words and the page with the picture on separate screens. When I was reading this to my son, we had to keep flipping back and forth to view the picture that went with that page's text.
Bing is the cutest little nerd ever.
He’s one lonely little guy and wants a friend. He knows his hopes of getting a dog are not going to happen, so he decides on the next best thing. A robot!
In a flurry of creativity and ingenuity, he builds Nero, who brings so much fun to Bing’s life.
The illustrations are what really make this book and the story of Bing and Nero come to life.
My little girl age (5) had her first sleepover, the kids (ages 6 and 3) were not able to sleep and I took out my ipad and read them several books Bing and Nero included, the kids followed the book closely from beginning to end, their favorite part was seeing the illustration of the robot making popcorn. After we finished they wanted to build a robot (of course I ignored them it was late at night!) but it just goes to show that the book made kids think and move into creative action. Well done with this book. It's a hit with girls and boys too.
This is a book about a little boy, Bing, who is bored (maybe he is lonely too) and would really like to have a dog. Dogs are fun but he has a cat. Cats aren't all that fun. So he goes upstairs and gets things that no one is using anymore and builds himself a robot. He names him Nero. They do a lot of things together and Bing is no longer bored or lonely. He now thinks robots are better than dogs.
This book is a beautifully written story. The pictures by the illustrator bring the story to life. It would be a great read for children to read themselves and would open up the opportunity to learn about robots as well as working with tools. Parents could also read this book to younger kids too.
I would recommend this book to kids and adults with children.
I loved this book and I am sure my grandson will also love it. His name is Nero, so this will be a hit with him. The story is so well narrated, making references to tools used (which my 5 year old grandson will relate to as he always help grandma with the name of tools) the message about friendship is truly beautiful.
